One of the trickier Combo Cards to locate in Dead Rising 2 is the Burning Skull Combo Card.  The location of the Burning Skull Combo Card is in fact one of the hidden ones.

To obtain the card you will first need quite a large stash of money (approximately 1 million).  Once you’ve amassed the cash head to the Silver Strip area and go to One Little Duck Bingo.  Outside you’ll see a fortune teller machine (which is also an awesome reference to the Zoltan Fortune Teller Machine from the movie Big!).  Keep inserting money until EVENTUALLY, the Fortune Teller Machine will spit out the Burning Skull Combo Card.

Now celebrate acquiring the Burning Skull Combo Card by taking the nearby bike for a spin over the surrounding zombies ;)

Dead Rising 2 has one secret achievement to unlock and if you’re wondering how then you’ve come to the right place!

Firstly, you’ll need to mix up some Nectar.  Nectar in Dead Rising is created by blending orange juice with orange juice.  You can find blenders in most bars and food courts around Fortune City.

Next up you’ll have to capture one of the Queen Bees.  These are found by hacking up one of the queen-infected zombies later in the game after the scene where Chuck crushes a Queen Bee.  The zombies are easy to spot as they stand looking like they’re trying to remove something from their neck.

Once you have a captured Queen Bee and your blended Nectar, head to a Maintenance Room and combine the Nectar and Queen Bee for Wingman.  The combo card will unlock along with unlocking the secret achievement called “Tape it or DIE!”

Have you reached the rank of Corporal in Halo Reach recently and the achievement “Start of Something” didn’t unlock?  Well, the very thing happened to me and I have the solution!

Simply start a Campaign mission, hit Start then select “Save & Quit”.  The achievement should pop at that point.

Good luck, Spartan!

Halo Waypoint has been updated in preparation for the much anticipated Halo Reach.  I’ve embedded a video of all of the changes and they even highlight where to find out the unlock requirements for a special set of Reach Armour.

Now go fight the fight, Spartan!

Today marks the 25th Anniversary since the launch of the original Super Mario Bros. on the classic NES console (or the Famicom depending upon your region).

In South Africa, the NES was only available from one chainstore making it incredibly expensive.  Instead, most South Africans my age will remember the Golden China – a top-loading Famicom knock-off a fraction of the cost.  It was on the Golden China that I first experienced the pinnacle of gaming; Super Mario Bros.  At the time I didn’t know it was effectively a pirate machine but since moving to the UK I have redeemed myself and own an original NES with the entire Mario collection.

I vividly remember playing Super Mario Bros for the first time when I was a kid and it changed my life.  I owned an Atari 2600 and I really enjoyed Pong and Maze Craze, but Super Mario Bros just propelled gaming ahead of anything I had ever experienced.  Playing Super Mario Bros as a kid was like experiencing the future!

Some key moments I remember include:

  • Discovering the mushroom power up for the first time…
  • …and then upgrading it to spit fireballs!
  • Accidentally going into a pipe to find a treasure trove of coins.
  • The first time you jump above the brick ceiling in 1-2…
  • …and then take that all the way to the Warp Pipes!
  • Realising you don’t fight Koopa directly, instead you destroy the bridge.
  • Finally finding the right Castle!

I was on the verge of ordering an Android phone many months ago when the rumour broke that Microsoft was going to launch Windows Phone 7 with Xbox Live support by the end of 2010.  It was that point that I put any upgrade plans on hold and after watching the embedded video I’m really glad I waited.

The platform promises achievements on the go with up to 200 GamerScore per title just like on Xbox Live Arcade.  You’ll also be able to view your friends list (along with their online status), achievements unlocked and even amend your Avatar.

Check out the official Xbox Live on Windows Phone 7 page for a list of upcoming launch titles.  Or if you’re keen to read more, why not head on over to the excellent Engadget review of Xbox Live on Windows Phone 7.
